Support the group

Retreats, pilgrimages, meeting costs and travel — paid for by people who care about this group.

Why give

Small gifts, real effect

Almsgiving is part of Orthodox life rather than an add-on to it. Giving to the youth group keeps our meetings running, sends people on pilgrimage who could not otherwise afford the trip, and funds the collections we run for families in need across the city.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

— 2 Corinthians 9:7

Every gift stays with the youth group, and the group is run entirely by volunteers.

Where it goes

What your giving pays for

Three things, in plain terms.

Retreats & pilgrimages

Buses, lodging and food, kept cheap enough that money is never the reason somebody stays home.

Youth meetings

Food, books, printing and the small running costs of a regular gathering for a growing group.

Questions

Giving, answered

Can I get a tax receipt?

No. ROCOR Toronto Youth Group is an Ontario not-for-profit corporation (OCN 1001594697), not a registered charity, so we cannot issue official tax receipts for donations.

Where exactly does the money go?

Retreats and pilgrimages, our meetings, and projects around the parish. The group is run by volunteers, so nothing is spent on salaries.

Where exactly does the money go?

Can I give regularly?

Yes, and it helps more than you would think. A small monthly gift lets us plan a year ahead in a way that one-off gifts cannot. Set up a recurring e-Transfer, or talk to us about it.

Can I give regularly?

Can I give towards something specific?

Yes. Tell us what you would like the gift to go towards — a retreat subsidy, helping someone travel, or our meetings — and we will make sure it is used that way.
